Select peers by jurisdiction, asset size, product mix and membership context. A credit union’s local concentration can make a national bank average an unsuitable direct comparator.

Financial-risk measures

Public benchmark sources

The Canadian Credit Union Association benchmarking manual describes financial peer comparisons and asset-size groupings. Some underlying peer reports require authorized access. A public manual is not evidence that AMLOK acquired the underlying institution data. Use the matching provincial or federal reporting source for an institution’s perimeter. Do not assume a federally regulated bank dataset covers all provincially regulated credit unions. Product-level mortgage or household indicators remain context rather than a substitute for member outcomes.

AMLOK evaluation

Hold out members, related businesses and later periods. Where possible, evaluate an entire credit union excluded from development. Report subgroup sample sizes and uncertainty; a small local cohort may not support a stable standalone performance estimate. Test income, business-ownership and joint-obligation resolution against authorized evidence. Measure whether the system abstains when source coverage is insufficient. For Signal, separate local economic changes from data-feed interruptions and measure analyst-confirmed alert relevance. Use the shared benchmark contract and robustness protocol. Research does not create member communication or case-management workflows.
